The thought of dating dental hygiene/assistant students as a dental student came to my mind as I eagerly await for my acceptance. Many ppl here agree that dating a fellow dental student is not cool b/c it will develop hard feelings if the relationship doesn't go right. What's your take on dating dental hygiene/assistant students as a dental student? I thought it's a good thing since most dental hygiene students are attractive, smart, and understanding the hardship of dentistry. I am not sure how closely dental students work with dental hygiene students in school, so I am not sure whether it would have the same negative effect on dating dental students.

May 18, 2017 Wait until you actually meet these people to judge their actual level of attractiveness and personality. Plus add 2-4 years of school on their belt and watch many plummet to overweight annoying wenches. Let them have the lame med students, its win win. Both would have BMIs of at. Dec 11, 2008 Does your romantic life (dating, hookups, etc.) increase in dental school? I was thinking that it might, because there are so many people similar to you. Also, are there many love triangles due to the smaller class size in dental school? I don't think she regretted jumping to dental school early. She jokingly will say she was a 'college dropout'. My other friend did the same thing but looking back, he regrets that he wasn't there to enjoy his senior year in college as much. (I.e football, senior parties, fraternity events, dating, etc.).

I'll tell you, it was tough for me as a single women in some ways once I started medical school (in terms of dating.) The men you meet and are constantly exposed to are either through the classroom or at the hospital. Though, I was in a town that I never lived prior to medical school so almost all of my friends/social contacts were classmates. Jul 16, 2018 Sorry if this is a silly thing to ask about here, but as somebody who is currently applying, is there even a point in starting a relationship now? I am currently seeing someone, and believe that person might be seeing me as well. I am asking because I heard that most relationships won't last.

Hi,
I know that there are several threads about LDR and relationships in general in medical school, but I was hoping to get a more updated (if it is at all) and more modern perspective, as it seems like a lot of the threads were from a while back!
It's my first time posting here (I've lurked without a membership for a bit) but I am a pre-dental student. My boyfriend of almost 2 years is going to be going to medical school literally 30 min away by bus from me, so it won't be a LDR next year, my final year.
What I was wondering is, how hard is it to be in a relationship with a 1st year medical school student? We are in a serious and committed relationship and have met parents, etc. I will most likely be busy with my final year + interviews and other normal college activities/academics, but are the stories of medical students having only one hour of free time per day true?
Also, what are your thoughts on dental school students dating medical school students? This might not be the perfect place to ask, but are they similar enough that it would still be a very busy schedule on both ends? I am hoping to go to the same school (except in dentistry), or somewhere in the area, but we are also aware that there is always a possibility that I might not be able to be in the area!
Thank you for your replies Sorry if this was a it long!
